Dirt Adventure Pattaya Dirt Bike Tour With Billy & Nathan
Dirt Adventure Pattaya Dirt Bike Tour With Billy & Nathan, Beware Of Cheap Imitators! Pattaya`s No 1 Fully TAT Licensed Dirt bike Tour
I got the call, it was a Billy Grimshaw from Barnsley in the UK, him and his mate Nathan were gunning for a change of dirt riding, after a week or so in Pattaya the Northern Lads had had enough filth and were now looking to get filthy!
The stage was set for a half day dirt bike ride. I went to Bike Lane and prepped the Kwackers, checked tyre pressure, chain tension, changed the oil and bunged in a new filter, put the clean air filters in and fired them up.
The little trail bikes were ready to go.
Billy and Nathan arrived and with a bit of introductions and chat aside we got kitted up.
I had already asked the previous day about their level of riding ability, it wasn’t that necessary because honestly I don’t think a lad is a lad that hasn’t grown up around Barnsley way without thrashing the odd dirt bike around a field or in the old pits.
One thing was sure Billy and Nathan were the lads! And both had been on and off bikes for years….
Everything was good, with kit that fitted nice and snug and boots the right size, body protectors on and goggles at the ready, a glance at Billy’s head and oh! Well you know what they say about a big head,…? Yup! Big helmet (no innuendo please!) We went through the lids I have and nothing would go on, I’m sure it wouldn’t be the first time Billy had thrashed a dirtbike around without a helmet on but neither him nor me were about to set off into the dirt without the protection, this is Pattaya after all and we know what can happen if you go playing in the dirt without the correct protection!!
( things could get pretty sticky and ugly )
With Billy’s king size head the only thing to do was yank the cheek pads out of a large helmet and force it on, we were set to go.
Both guys were on the throttle and enjoying the Sandy tracks, we rode through farmlands and Ascended the hill behind Thai polo, it’s rocky and dry this time of year and really washed out from the huge torrential downpours recently, some of the rain water gully’s are half a meter deep in places and no way do you want to end up down in one of them. We stopped at the top to take on some liquid and check out the view across to Pattaya and out to the gulf of Thailand.
We took some snaps and set off again.
Back down the hill and crossing more plantations of Tapioca and pineapple passing coconut groves and then open land close to the golf club and racing circuit.
We made for the woods with the slightly climbing gradient, while snaking in and around more plantations.
Arriving to the cover of the tree’s yields a nice respite from the beating sun, the shade is cool but it’s more work in the trees so the temp seems to go up not down as you’d think with the shade.
We rode around up down and across lots of nice terrain scattered with rocks and tree roots.
We stopped for water and took more pictures while sitting chatting about different things, carrying on we made our way out of the woods and headed for a restaurant, the Lads can ride and neither had any problems with any of the obstacles, but both were getting shot from the heat and loss of sweat,
We sat and talked over our fried rice then headed back to Bike Lane along the road, what a welcome it was to take off the goggles and get a breeze through the front of the helmet.
Arriving back it was apparent both guys had had a top half day,. Billy commented it was the highlight of the trip.
I have a feeling they will be buying dirt bikes later this summer back in Barnsley,…
Good luck to Billy and Nathan! Hope to see you again.
Anybody thinking about booking a day out on the bikes, do it. Jonnys a top bloke, well worth the money, only downside is, after this day out, I had to buy myself a YZF 450 as soon as I got back to England ) Thanks again Jonny!!
