Lance from United states takes a 3 hour tour
Lance is from the states and works on Macau, he is a bike riding enthusiast who likes to go off road.
I got a call from this very polite person enquiring about the tour and agreed to be at his hotel the following day, introductions out the way we headed for bike lane to get kitted up and get ready for our ride, the previous day following the call I assumed it would be a short tour for a beginner but this was not the case and Lance wanted to do some real riding having been to various countries like New Zealand and Italy doing dirt bike tours, this worried me a little as I was not quite prepared to offer something world class.
Luckily Lance was just craving some dirtbike action and was happy to just get out riding.
Formalities out the way and kitted up we set out on the trail, with a few murky looking ominous clouds lurking just in the distance where we were heading, there must have been a breeze because in a blink of an eye we were getting lashed upon by the dreary down pour which stopped as fast as it had started leaving us soaked through, the following section of trail was navigated through steamy goggles, we dried off nearly as fast as we got wet.
Gunning up now muddy ascents to the top of the hill for the nice view back over pattaya, we stopped and took a minute break to look at the view, there was still thick cloud which kind of split the sky in half vertically with the cloudy part to the right, the left of our view was bright sunny a very clear giving the chance to see quite far out over jomtien and further still to the gulf of Thailand. We didnt hang around and after a few gulps of water got moving descending the hill crossing some farm lands and plantations while making our way for the woods.
Lance seemed to be having a good time, every time I looked around he threw his thumb up. Arriving at the woods we ducked straight in to the cover of the trees and started the lap of tight twisting single track, with constant direction change it kept us busy but its not difficult and almost any rider from beginner to expert would go through there with a smile on their face, we stopped a couple of times for a water and chatted about where Lance had ridden in the past, Lance told how he could fly anywhere virtually free for being an aircraft mechanic and that he would book in somewhere to ride a dirtbike tour and then just jump on a flight, It sounded wonderful.
We continued on and looped around the woods on the single track then headed back to bike lane finishing the ride.
It was fun and nice to meet and ride with Lance, I think his dirt bike riding thirst was quenched for that holiday. I look forward to seeing him again soon.
